I can't believe it's been a year. I miss you more than ever. These songs make me think of you and always make me cry...even when I hear them in public!
Things I Miss About You...
1. Your mischievous side....pranks, jokes, pokes in my sandwich when I'm not looking.
2. Your smile.
3. Your laugh and how your shoulders go up and down when you try to hold it back.
4. When you put your hand on one of the nephew's head and hold them back while they try to hit you or when you smash Kelly and Marianne's heads together and say "Twinses". I dunno but it always made me laugh.
5. Your tuna salad sandwiches. Is it Ritz crackers or Saltines?
6. Your advice.
7. Your knowledge about EVERYTHING!
8. When you make the babies dance and do karate. HILARIOUS!
9. Your "Fred Astaire".
10. Our LONG talks late into the night. I miss those the most.
The last time I saw you was a perfect memory. I was visiting the family and asked you to go to church with us. You said that if I would iron your shirt you would. How could I say no?! (you always got everyone to do stuff like that for you and I don't know how!) We got to church and there you were in the parking lot in a beautiful creamy white Armani suit, blue shirt (that I ironed), with Kaleal in tow. He looked equally handsome. Your smile was so bright. That Sunday was a "Fast and Testimony Meeting"...interesting how tomorrow is too. You were sitting in the middle of our family on a long pew. I knew that I had to stand and share my testimony that day. I didn't know if we would ever be all together again on such a Sunday and if I'd ever have that opportunity again. I'm so glad that I did. I can still see your face in that congregation when I close my eyes. After church we all went to Mama and Daddy's for lunch. It was really perfect. I imagine that's what Heaven feels like...surrounded by people you love.
If you were here today I'd ask for a hug and time to sit and talk. So I will spend time doing those things with all the other people I love, I know that's what you would do.
PS. I'm sorry that I sat on your head when you were a baby...repeatedly. Not cool, I know. Also, I'm writing this under the assumption that you have Internet access and time to read blogs. ;) Love You.

oh sarah, that was really sweet. i'm so sorry.
This was beautiful. I can totally picture that last Sunday. You described it so well. Oh and it's saltine crackers in the tuna. =)
Sarah this post made me bawl! What a great reflection of Travis. I wish I could give you a big hug right now!! Hope you are well. . .can't wait to see you in a few weeks.
Thanks for posting this, Sarah. I loved reading it, even if I can't stop crying because of it. You really hit the nail on the head with the list of things you miss about him. Can I just add that I miss him telling me "betcha can't go a whole day without crying!"? I love him so much. I love you so much. We need to get together again before y'all move. Miss you!
Oh Sarah I can't believe it's been a year already. Thanks so much for your sweet testimony today. I am so sad to think you will be leaving us at the end of this month. I am still in denial it can't really be here already. We need to get together and visit over some nice hot chocolate. This weather is kicking my booty. Love you tons Sarah. You are so amazing.
such a sweet post. and i love your p.s. (i just can't imagine heaven without the internet!):)
That was beautiful - if you were trying to get everyone to cry - it worked! I hope my siblings have such nice things to say about me when I'm gone.
What a nice tribute. Even as the time passes there is always a little hole that can't ever be filled with the loss of someone you love so much. Your brother is so lucky to have you as a sister.
Very sweet post, Sarah. Has it really already been a year? crazy. I loved your P.S. as well!
I'm so sorry for your family, Sarah. But, what wonderful memories you have of your brother. This post made my cry.
I'm a little late to your blog but I just want to post that I love you.
Dear Sarah,
I've been trying to catch up with your posts and can't believe it's time for you to fly! But, I will follow even when you're in sunny California-wait! That was another friend, I've forgotten and can't find it in your archives...anyway, Kate and Allie are so big, and adorable! And I'm glad Roman is doing fine now-you may need to keep an inhaler in the car through elementary school! I loved your tribute to Travis and am just grateful you have that perfect Sunday to remember-you are very blessed to have such a close family! And I wish you all the best, and wonderful new friends in your new ward and community!! :)
