Merry Christmas!!!

We are days away from Valentine's Day and I have not yet mailed my Christmas cards.  Most people would just get over it and move on but for some reason I can't.

This is the card and letter you would have received had I been on the ball like everyone else!

Dear Family and Friends,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  2013 was our most eventful year yet...it's hard to believe how much has changed in just 12 short months.  Our most exciting announcement is that Houston Ridge Lunt joined our family on April 17th.  The past eight months have flown by!  He is already crawling and getting into the Christmas presents every chance he gets.  He loves his brother and sisters very much.  Everything he sees goes straight into his mouth but lately he's found that the things on the kitchen floor are better than those in other rooms...smart boy.

Scarlett is a spunky 3 year old.  She fell in absolute love with a child-sized shopping cart at Kroger recently and it's all she talks about.  She is just hoping and praying that Santa will bring her one for Christmas along with a punching balloon and a Flashlight Friend.  Scarlett is a very loving girl, she expresses gratitude all day long - I often hear, "Thanks mom. Thank you for the breakfast.  I love this.  Thanks.  Thank you mom."  She is also quick to say, "I love you" along with a hug and a kiss.

Roman turned 6 in November.  He is in kindergarten and enjoys riding the bus with his best bud, Drew.  We're happy to say that he still loves Legos, Star Wars, soccer, basketball, and baseball as much as he possibly can.  Our favorite item on his Christmas list was, "Food".  When I questioned him about it he replied, "Well, how do you spell Steak?"  He also learned to ride a two-wheel bike on his first attempt.  All it took was, "Roman, I know it's a Princess bike but I promise we'll buy you a boy bike as soon as you learn to ride." Challenge accepted.

Kate is 9 years old.  She hung up her ballet slippers in exchange for cleats this year!  She had a blast playing soccer with her friends and can't wait to play again next season.  We were so proud of her for taking on a new challenge.  Kate's favorite subject is math but this year she fell in love with reading thanks to a young man named Harry Potter.  She has also enjoyed a weekly sewing class and insisted on sewing her own PJ bottoms for Pajama day at school.  Between sewing, soccer, and violin her schedule has been full!  No surprise her Christmas list includes a soccer ball.

Allie is 11 years old and is 2nd in command around our house.  She is quick to volunteer to help with Houston and babysits for our date nights.  (LIFE CHANGING!)  Sixth grade has its own campus and Allie is enjoying the new older environment.  She also hung up her ballet slippers this year but is still searching for her "sport".  She loves her sewing class and playing violin.  When she finds a minute to spare she is reading, re-reading, or googling Percy Jackson.  Her Christmas dream item is to have her very own Pinterest account.

Darin is working hard in his practice and continues to live for the warmer golf months.  At home he's been a huge help to Sarah with all her wacky ideas - from Scarlett's over-the-top birthday party to Sarah's new business he has grabbed a ladder, a computer, or PVC pipe to help his wife make things happen. He is a patient man!  This year he got to enjoy Roman's sports from the sidelines which was a lot of fun.  At church Darin sings in the choir and serves in the Elder's Quorum.  He is the rock in our home that gathers us up for family prayer and scripture study each night.  The kids fight over who gets to sit next to him.

Sarah: I thought having a baby wasn't change enough so I turned us all upside-down!  This year has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least. From losing my dad to driving five kids across the country solo, the Lord has taken me on quite a journey.  I'm eternally grateful for all that my Earthly Father and Heavenly Father have taught me and continue to teach me.  I'm also humbled by the support I've received from family and friends in launching my new online store, Piper Street.  A dear friend and I decided to make a dream happen and we haven't slept since!  You can check it out at www.piperstreetshop.com .  I love this crazy life and especially these beautiful little people the Lord has blessed me with!

Your friendship means so much to us, Merry Christmas!!!

PS - Some of the cards are already stamped and I just may mail them out! haha
