Bell's Palsy

You may have heard that I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy this week. You may not have ever heard of it so here's a link to more info.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell%27s_Palsy

Basically the left-side of my face is paralyzed but only temporarily (hopefully). I could recover anywhere within 1 to 6 months....I'm planning on setting a new record for quickest recovery. In the meantime I'm taking some seriously hot, pouty-faced photos; wearing a precious bedazzled eye-patch; and making a bib that says, "Don't worry it's not contagious or permanent!" in rhinestones. Ohhhh and I'm collecting all fun straws, twisty, bend-y, etc. So. fun.

The worst part is that I can't taste on the left side..which apparently is where the chocolate taste-buds are. :( I seriously do have to use a straw to drink and it's hard to eat which is why I need a bib ;) ha.

The best part is that I feel blessed. Lots of people have called and emailed or facebooked which is thoughtful. I also feel very peaceful about things that were a big worry to me before, things that I felt like I wasn't accomplishing or needed to do better at. I haven't shed one tear about this, I know it's not life-threatening or permanent. The Lord works in mysterious ways and right now it's through a half-paralyzed face (which is like a free test run at Botox!).

Solo Vacay's

I love vacations, all vacations. (Well, unless it involves camping...that to me is not a vacay but don't get me started.) I personally think that in addition to family trips we all need family-free trips! So earlier this month I went to Utah with a bunch of my girl friends and had a blast. We laughed, we ate, we shopped, we enjoyed great uplifting conversations. From previous blog posts you know how much I love these girls...wish more of them could have been there but hopefully we can make this an annual event with more friends joining.

A few days after I got home Darin went to Denver to golf with his brother-in-law Paul. What else can I say? Darin says they talked sports, watched sports, played sports, ate when they remembered, and golfed. No uplifting conversations were needed ;) . The great part about his trip was that Paul let us borrow Katherine and Dylan during that same time! We had a great time with them both and were sad to see them go...still scheming to get them to move out here!
