100 Days

My sisters, Melissa and Jill, and I were talking about how we've all felt a "loss of moxie" lately and while I'm sorry to hear that they feel that way too, I am also very relieved to hear that it's normal and maybe contagious??? ;-)

My inspiring sister, Melissa, posted a really neat accomplishment recently that I'm hoping will help me get recapture my "moxie".  She set a 100 Day Goal and stuck to it 100%.  I was so impressed!  I've never set a 100 Day Goal but she got my wheels turning.  Thursday was her birthday and so in honor of Melissa, I started my 100 Day Journey.  Want to hear my goals???

1. Exercise 6 days a week. (I'm already on my 6th week of Insanity but this will be a great way to keep me accountable once I'm finished.  And, yes I LOVE Insanity!  Crazy hard workout but awesome if you like sweat and pain...haha.)

2. Cut back on the Internet.  So this one is tougher than I thought.  Originally I thought I could allow myself 20 minutes a day but that hasn't worked out.  Soooo, I'm working out the kinks on that one.

3. Make a daily to-do list and stick to it.  This one has helped me tremendously to stay off the Internet and makes me feel so accomplished by bedtime.

4. Read scriptures daily and have daily morning prayer.  I'm usually good on the morning prayer but not as consistent with reading my scriptures.  I'm already seeing the blessings from this.

Somehow with all the trials of life I've forgotten how to dream and sometimes how to hope for the best things.  While my faith has grown leaps and bounds, my ability to dream for the future and hope for better days has grown very weak.  Does that make sense?  Sometimes when life beats us down we forget that we can still look up and we can still dream big...maybe that's part of the challenge, if not The Challenge.  So I find myself on a journey to discover what my heart wants most...no, it won't be found within my 100 day challenge, but that challenge has really inspired me to take the next step.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Melissa!  You don't look a day over 21!

So aren't you moving????

The past five + weeks have dragged on like no other time in my life!  I could write a book about it but I'll just break it down to the highlights.
  • Landlord emails while we are on vacation in Texas and says he has orders (civilian working for military) to move back to Ohio and we need to move out in 30 days.
  • Load family up next day and rush back to Ohio to start looking for a new house - decide to buy so this won't happen again.  This will be our 5th house in 5 years!
  • Immediately start looking at new houses.
  • Fall in LOVE with dream house (Kate doesn't know but her BFF would have been our next door neighbor).
  • Put in offer but house is For Sale By Owner so we make the offer contingent on appraisal.
  • Appraisal takes an ETERNITY to come in but comes in under our original offer.
  • Now offer full appraised value.
  • Wait.
  • Buyer refuses to accept appraised value and won't sell.
  • Sad, confused...very, very confused.
BUT...did I mention that while bullet number 6 is happening our landlord calls to say, "Nevermind, now they are sending us to Maryland.  You can stay in the house."

Crazy?  Yes, very crazy.
I turned this over to the Lord in the beginning and said, "This is happening for a reason."  I thought the reason was that we were getting our dream house....eh, that's not it.
The current lesson from this exhausting trial is...
  • to be happy in the life that we were already happy in before this got dangled in front of us.
  • to have faith in the Lord and His timing.
  • to recognize the Lord's blessings in all area's of our life and not the material.
  • and I'm sure there are lots more.
I am thankful that I don't have to pack things up...but still processing and a little bit sad about the death of a dream I had not yet dared to dream.

so what do we have to complain about???.....
