Baby Names and Roller Skates

Allie was invited to a roller skating b-day party for a classmate. When she brought the invitation home she said, "I already asked my friend if Kate could come too and she said yes." I thought that was sooooo sweet of her to think of her sister immediately!

My second thought was, "Oh no, they've never skated before." No big deal right? Well, I have some not-so-fun memories of being invited to roller skating parties....I never learned to skate and each party brought more fear than you can imagine. I wanted so badly to go to the parties but oh how I wished I could glide around the rink with ease instead of clutching to the wall :-( . If only I had skates at home, I thought I could really be good at it! Anyway, back to the girls - I decided to go buy the girls some skates and have them practice before the party. Darin thought I was crazy, "Seriously Sarah, they'll be fine. Don't all kids just figure it out once they get there?!" "No," I replied, "I never could 'figure it out' once I got there and then the parties were no fun. I ended up sitting, embarrassed, most of the time! This isn't happening to our girls. They are going to learn."

The girls were excited at the idea of skating and thrilled when I brought the skates home...the point where I started to see that I was crazy was when I made them watch Youtube videos titled "How to Skate", "How to Stop on Skates", etc....not a joke I did make them watch. Isn't it funny how our childhoods (and crazy prego hormones) affect our poor little kiddos?!

Well the party was a HUGE success - and I must say that their practice paid off!!! I was beaming the whole time as I watched them skate around the rink!

Baby Names...
So I TOTALLY thought this baby was a boy..even once the ultrasound began I was soooo sure that I saw boy parts...I have no future as an ultrasound tech. When I was planning for this baby boy I could ONLY imagine using "Texas-themed" names...no joke. I BEGGED Darin to let me name him Houston Texas Lunt. Darin said no and backed it up with the fact that he ran it by the girls at work and they laughed. Whatever, He probably didn't say it right. Soooo then I moved on to Houston as the middle name, no questions about it that was 'HIS' middle name. I loved it.
Well, now that I know this is a girl I am still totally hooked on a "Texas" name. Before I had Roman my girl names were Brynn or Bria...my sister stole Brynn, true story. No problem though, I still love Bria (ya, I know that's not a Texas name.) What I'm thinking is....Dallas for her middle name since that's where Darin and I were married....well and obviously because it's in Texas. Haha I don't know why this baby has made me a little homesick for Texas but she definitely has from day one! Don't worry, we're loving Cali and not planning on moving but maybe she just really wishes she were a full Texan, instead of just half. ;-)
***Disclaimer - I reserve the right to change my mind AT ANY TIME, so who really knows what we'll name her!
PS - If you don't like my name choices please keep it to yourself and name your baby or puppy your favorite name. ;-)
PPS - Other girl names that I like but Darin has said 'No' to (I may re-suggest them while I'm in the throws of labor so he can't say "No".)
Scarlet
Scarlett - can you tell I really love this one?!
Lily - he actually likes this one
Savannah
Elise
Alright, now feel free to let me know your favorites names. I'd love new suggestions, just make sure it goes with Dallas ;-)
